Novovoronezh NPP Peer Review
An international peer review conducted by World Association of Nuclear Operators (WANO) was completed at Novovoronezh Nuclear Power Plant (NVNPP). 20 experts from Russia, China, the UAE, India, Bulgaria, and Armenia participated in the review.
Five strengths of Novovoronezh NPP in the areas of operation, chemistry, and personnel training were noted: the use of photoluminescent markings on the cells of the safety system channels, the use of a thermal-physical and chemical process modeling facility to adjust the water-chemistry regime of the main cooling water systems, the implementation of an operator information support system, chemical cleaning of the sprinklers of the evaporative cooling tower from carbonate deposits, and modern simulators for personnel training.
