Enhanced Performance Monitoring
WANO functional leads commended Smolensk NPP for it's level of operation.

A look into the future.

At Smolensk NPP, the first in “Rosenergoatom” JSC, a new format of interaction with the World Association of Nuclear Operators has been tested. Functional leads conducted a functional and technical support visit according to the methodology of Enhanced Performance Monitoring.

Enhanced Performance Monitoring (hereinafter referred to as ePM) is one of five processes being implemented as part of the Action for Excellence (AfE) project. Focused on a 10-year perspective and shifting the emphasis to factors for long-term performance improvement. The Smolensk NPP has taken an active position in implementing the Action for Excellence initiative and is recognized as one of the regional leaders in the project development, which prompted replacement of a Follow-up peer review with visit of functional leads as part of ePM.

According to Andrey Prokhodtsev, the head of Functional and Technical Support Department at WANO Moscow Centre, professionalism of the team formed at the Smolensk NPP provides a reasonable expectation that performance here will continuously improve in the foreseeable future.
