Member support mission at Kudankulam Nuclear Power Plant
From 7 to 9 April 2026, WANO Moscow Centre conducted a member support mission (MSM) at Kudankulam NPP (India) on the topic: “Efficient use and evaluation of the self-assessment programs’ effectiveness at NPP”.
The following experts participated in the WANO mission:
• Galim Musin (WANO MC),
• Elena Chukhlebova (Smolensk NPP, Russia),
• Alexander Kornyushkin (Rosenergoatom Central Office, Russia).
The MSM purpose was to introduce participants to the basic principles of conducting self-assessments and methods for assessing the effectiveness of the self-assessment process at NPPs.
At the final meeting with the Kudankulam NPP management, the experts presented a draft of the MSM report and proposals for improving self-assessment activities.
