Member Support Mission at Kursk NPP-2

From 6 to 8 August, 2024, at Kursk NPP-2, WANO Moscow Centre conducted a member support mission (MSM) on the topic: “Observation of the control room personnel work at full-scale and analytical simulators (CPO stage)”.

The following experts took part in the WANO mission:
• Galim Musin (WANO MC, Russia)
• Sergey Kravtsov (Belarusian NPP, Belarus)
• Wang Tingkui (WANO MC, China)
• Mikhail Sharov WANO MC, Russia)

The MSM purpose was to obtain practical recommendations for improving performance during CPO.

Issues of interest to Kursk NPP-2 are given below:
• procedure for conducting CPO;
• preparation of scenarios (validation at simulators);
• developing a scenario report and potential focus areas based on scenario observations;
• reconstruction of the scenario, preparation of observation reports.

At the final meeting with the Kursk NPP management, experts presented a draft MSM report and proposals for improving performance in the field of monitoring the work of control room personnel.
