Member Support Mission at Beloyarsk NPP
From 19 to 21 December, 2023, WANO Moscow Centre conducted a support mission (MSM) on the topic: “Walkdown organization and conduct” at Beloyarsk NPP.
The following experts took part in the WANO mission:
• Galim Musin (WANO MC, Russia)
• Alexey Vtorygin (Kola NPP, Russia)
• Oleg Shevchenko (Leningrad NPP, Russia)
• Andrey Gorbunov (Novovoronezh NPP, Russia)
• Oleg Shatalov (Smolensk NPP, Russia)
• Vitaly Vasiliev (Kalinin NPP, Russia)
The MSM purpose was to obtain practical recommendations for improving performance on the MSM topic.
Issues of interest to Beloyarsk NPP are given below:
• questioning attitude to recording equipment defects, missing deviations;
• low threshold of sensitivity to identifying and recording deficiencies during walkdowns;
• motivating staff to identify defects and deviations;
• NPP management walkdowns.
At the final meeting with the Beloyarsk NPP management, experts presented a draft MSM report and proposals for improving performance in the field of organizing and conducting walkdowns.
