Member Support Mission at Rostov NPP
From 11 to 15 September, 2023, WANO Moscow Centre conducted a support mission at Rostov NPP on the topic “Investigation of violations in plant operation and exchange of operating experience”.
Support Mission Team Composition:
• Evgeniy Kovalev (WANO MC, Russia).
• Yuri Zhuk (WANO MC, Russia).
• Alexander Gribov (Leningrad NPP, Russia).
• Igor Lipunov (Kalinin NPP, Russia).
• Anton Chukanov (Smolensk NPP, Russia).
• Elena Chukhlebova (Smolensk NPP, Russia).
The support mission was conducted in an assist visit format. During the assist visit, interviews and conversations were conducted with the Rostov NPP personnel. Based on the results obtained, the work in the chosen area was assessed. The WANO MC team developed and presented recommendations to Rostov NPP to improve activities in the field of investigating violations in plant operation.
The support mission results are presented in the final report for the purpose of sharing experiences in determining direct and root causes, contributing factors of abnormal events during the investigation of various violations in plant operation. Cause analysis methods were reviewed and the experience of other nuclear power plants was presented in the form of presentations.
