Meeting of Young Generation movement participants at FSUE Atomflot with WANO MC Site Representatives Manager
During 20 to 22 June 2022, a working visit was held of WANO MC Site Representatives Manager V.Tarykin to FSUE Atomflot, within the WANO MC Site Representative exchange visits programme.
This was the first exchange visit since establishment of WANO MC representative office at FSUE Atomflot site – the only organization in the world dealing with operation and maintenance of civil nuclear ice-breaker fleet of Russia for economic development of the North shipping lane. Both shipboard and shore personnel consist of young, talented, promising specialists.
On 20 June 2022, the first day of the exchange visit, a meeting was held with FSUE Atomflot Young Generation movement participants.
The following leaders and active participants of the WANO Young Generation movement attended the working meeting:
- Furtaev Aleksey – 2-nd category engineer of Nuclear Safety Group;
- Gerasimovich Andrey – 2-nd category health physics engineer of Radiological Safety Group;
- Nezamaeva Ekaterina – radiometric engineer of Laboratory Monitoring Group;
- Soldatova Yuliya – 2-nd category radiometric engineer of Radiological Safety Group,
- Zaitseva Alina – radiological safety engineer at Vaigach ice-breaker.
The meeting was held at WANO MC Site Representative Office at FSUE Atomflot V. Romanov, in a free discussion atmosphere.
The following issues were discussed during the meeting:
- WANO history;
- WANO goals and objectives;
- WANO MC Young Generation movement history;
- opportunities and potentials of participation in WANO MC YG movement;
- the next WANO MC YG events.
The Young Generation movement participants had an opportunity to ask questions and get answers to them.
The WANO MC YG Leader Aleksey Furtaev informed on the activities performed by FSUE Atomflot Young Generation participants at FSUE Atomflot. In April this year, a workshop was conducted with young specialists of the maintenance branch KolAER at Kola NPP, and a working meeting is planned with participants of the Young Generation movement at Kola NPP on the topic ‘Safety culture’.
Vadim Tarykin noted that WANO MC Site Representatives are coordinators of WANO MC youth groups.
According to the common opinion of the meeting participants, participation in the WANO MC Young Generation movement contributes to young personnel development, and the experience they gain in the process will be very useful in their professional activities.
