In the period from October 19 to November 05, 2020 WANO Moscow Center conducted Follow-Up Peer Review at Rostov NPP PR (Russia).
Purpose of a Follow-Up Peer Review is to assess the station’s progress in addressing each area for improvement (AFI), identified during the previous Peer Review carried out in 2018.
Taking into account the COVID-19 epidemic, the station's management proposed to carry out the Follow-Up Peer Review in an alternative format. The WANO Moscow Centre, together with the Rostov NPP, developed measures that made it possible to plan the activities of the Follow-Up Peer Review and to minimize the health risks to the personnel involved in the Review.
The Follow-Up Peer Review team consisted of four experienced reviewers from WANO Moscow Centre and WANO-MC Representative at the site of Rostov NPP. In frames of earlier identified AFIs WANO-MC Representative at the site of Rostov NPP conducted the observation of the station’s personnel activities at operated power units and general plant facilities, and other team members conducted interviews with Rostov NPP personnel through videoconferencing, analysed station’s procedures.
