During 20 to 30 August 2020, WANO Moscow Center conducted the 2-nd phase of Pre-Start-Up Peer Review (PSUPR) of the Floating Nuclear Thermal Power Plant (FNTPP) at its permanent dislocation in Pevek, Chukotka Autonomous District. The WANO Moscow Center team consisted of three experts, who worked within the integrated review performed by Inspectorate General of JSC Concern Rosenergoatom. The purpose of PSUPR was safety status assessment of the areas not covered by the 1-st phase of PSUPR conducted at the temporary dislocation of FNTPP in Murmansk.
On 28 August, during the final meeting with FNTPP management and counterparts the integrated review team presented the results of their work. The FNTPP management received the review materials, including the report of the WANO team.
The Plant Director Toropov Kirill, in his turn, highly appreciated the work of the experts and expressed his confidence that the identified deficiencies will help the plant to focus on their correction better. He thanked the experts and the plant counterparts for their joint work aimed at further enhancement of the plant safety and reliability.
