Peer Review of Tianwan NPP
During 12 to 26 April 2019, WANO Moscow Center conducted a design-informed peer review of Tianwan NPP (Jiangsu Nuclear Power Corporation), aimed at assessment of plant performance for enhancing safe and reliable plant operation.

The peer review team consisted of 21 experts representing Hungary, Iran, China, Russia, Slovak Republic, USA. Ukraine, Czech Republic and Taiwan. The Team Leader was Roman Boykovsky, WANO MC representative at Mochovce NPP.

The peer review covered all fundamental, functional and cross-functional areas. Besides, the peer review included the status review of WANO SOER recommendations.

On 21 April, the team was joined by WANO MC First Deputy Director Anatoly Kirichenko and industry advisor Pavel Pavlyshin, Rovno NPP manager.

On 26 April, during the final meeting of the expert team with plant management and counterparts, Tianwan NPP Site Chairman Mr. Ma Mingze thanked the peer review team experts and plant counterparts for their joint productive work aimed at further enhancement of safe and reliable plant operation.

The peer review Team Leader Roman Boykovsky reminded that the team work was focused on upgrading the plant performance and will contribute to achievement of the goal to become one of the best plants in the world. According to him, the team work was well coordinated and efficient. Roman Boykovsky handed over the preliminary review report to the plant manager and expressed gratitude to plant staff for their support and good working conditions.

WANO MC First Deputy Director Anatoly Kirichenko thanked the peer review Team Leader Roman Boykovsky, team members, interpreters and WANO Exit Representative Pavel Pavlyshin for their hard work and presented a peer review commemorative plate to plant manager. He expressed confidence that the plant will successfully address the identified deficiencies, and WANO MC is ready to provide technical support to correct these deficiencies.
