Emergency exercises at the Mochovce
On November 22nd 2018, the WANO-MC Regional Crisis Center was involved in the joint emergency exercises at the Mochovce nuclear power plant (“Slovenské Elektrárne” a.s., Slovakia).

The purpose of the exercises was to respond to a simulated accident at the Mochovce plant as prescribed by the RCC policy document, Regulations on Information Exchange among WANO-MC Regional Crisis Center Members.
The RCC participated in the exercises to achieve the following:
• To test Slovenské Elektrárne – RCC communication channels capability in response to the simulated radiation accident;
• To notify early the RCC members of the simulated accident.
• To practice Slovenské Elektrárne /RCC/Member operating organization interaction.
• To drill the RCC on-duty personnel in response to emergency situations.
Pursuant to the RCC Regulations on Information Exchange, Slovenské Elektrárne informed the RCC about the accident in the prescribed form for the RCC to immediately notify its members and receive their feedback.
The Rosenergoatom-based WANO-MC Regional Crisis Center was established in 2013 to address the recommendations formulated by the WANO Post-Fukushima Commission. Activity of the WANO Moscow Centre RCC are supported by the WANO members from 12 countries affiliated to the Moscow region.
