Member Support Mission at FSUE Atomflot
During 26 November to 27 November 2018, in response to request of FSUE Atomflot WANO Moscow Center conducted a Member Support Mission (MSM) on the topic ‘Safety Culture’.
The following experts took part in WANO MC mission:• Kovalev Evgeny (WANO MC, Russia).
• Volkov Edward (ONITS PROGNOZ Co Ltd., Russia).
• Kosareva Irina (Novovoronezh NPP, Russia).
• Popov Pavel (South-Ukraine NPP, Ukraine).
MSM goals:
• Exchange of opinions and experience in safety culture area, training of personnel categories.
• Safety culture knowledge updating and classification.
During the Member Support Mission (MSM), the experts and representatives of FSUE Atomflot reviewed a number of issues:
• Current basis of nuclear safety culture concept.
• Nuclear safety culture assessment at a facility.
• Communication processes supporting nuclear safety priority.
• Assessment of decisions affecting nuclear safety culture.
• Absence of complacency.
• Work aimed at human error prevention/reduction.
• Management commitment to safety.
MSM was conducted in a training format. Management of FSUE Atomflot noted that MSM was successful and was useful for their personnel. During the final meeting, the experts provided the draft MSM report to representative of FSUE Atomflot.
