Member Support Mission at Beloyarsk NPP
During 12 November to 16 November 2018 and in response to request of Beloyarsk NPP, WANO Moscow Center conducted a Member Support Mission (MSM) on the topic ‘Development and validation of operating procedures’.

The following experts took part in the WANO MC mission:
• Kovalev Evgeny (WANO MC, Russia).
• Andreshchuk Alexander (Novovoronezh NPP, Russia).
• Kolpakov Sergey (Balakovo NPP, Russia).
• Lychakov Sergey (JSC VNIIAES, Russia).
• Parkhomenko Vitaly (Kalinin NPP, Russia).
MSM goals:
• Exchange of experience aimed at application of operating procedures development and validation practices implemented at other NPPs.

During the Member Support Mission (MSM), the experts and representatives of Beloyarsk NPP discussed a number of issues:

• Operating procedures validation methods.
• Use and development of step-by-step procedures.
• Development of detailed alarm response procedures for all operators.
• Development of procedures in EOP format (symptom-based emergency operating procedures).

The MSM was conducted in the format of expert assessment of Beloyarsk NPP performance within the selected topic. The assessment was performed in the form of exchange of opinions, observations and interviews. The experts made presentation on their experience. The MSM result is the draft report with preliminary recommendations/suggestions for improvement. During the final meeting, the experts handed over the draft MSM report to Beloyarsk NPP Plant Manager.
