During 13 to 17 March 2017, WANO Moscow Center with support of WANO Atlanta and Paris Centers conducted a Technical Support Mission (TSM) at Temelin NPP (Czech Republic) on the topic ‘Human performance improvement focused on utilization of human error prevention tools’.
The TSM purpose was to exchange ideas, global experience in human performance improvement and utilization of human error prevention tools. During the mission, the experts performed observations at the training center, and interviewed Temelin NPP staff and personnel of contracting organizations.
The following experts took part in the WANO mission:
- Thomas Busk (WANO Atlanta Center, US);
- Deborah Rozan (WANO Paris Center, France);
- Peter Stanko (Mochovce NPP, Slovak Republic);
- Eduard Volkov (Research Center “Prognoz”, Russia);
- Rumen Uzunov (WANO Moscow Center, Russia);
- Nadezhda Bila – WANO-MC onsite representative at Temelin NPP.
The following issues were discussed during TSM:
• Examples of efficient tools for further improvement of human performance.
• The most effective key performance indicators for organizations and plant in Human Performance area.
• Key performance indicators and the most effective indicators in Efficient Human Performance area for contracting organizations and the plant.
• Recommendations for human performance efficiency enhancement and safety culture improvement.
During the final meeting with Temelin NPP management, the experts presented the draft TSM report containing preliminary recommendations and suggestions.
